During 2013-15, Learning Away is publishing a growing suite of free resources, planning tools, case studies and CPD materials. This suite of resources provides insight into why and how Learning Away partnership schools plan curriculum focused residential experiences from KS1 to GCSE.
If your pupils start to tell you which curriculum themes will work well with an overnight trip – and then examples from the last visit keep cropping up in geography, science and creative writing work – you can be confident your residentials are integrated into your curriculum.
The real world learning opportunities provided by residential experiences quickly impact on how learning takes place and what is learned. There are many advantages from enhanced learning, engagement and attainment to wider impacts on study skills, the student teacher relationship and the positive regard throughout the school for learning.
The new Learning Away Curriculum Integration resource pack includes:

These resources have been developed by primary, secondary and special schools in the Learning Away clusters based on their five years of enhancing the learning experience in the school with brilliant residentials.
