Nominations are now open for the 9th annual Learning Outside the Classroom Awards presented by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom. These awards recognise individuals or teams, committed to ensuring that young people have inspiring experiences outside the classroom.
These awards are also a fantastic opportunity to celebrate learning outside the classroom and residential experiences in particular, as well as the many amazing people making those experiences happen.
You can nominate your LOtC ‘hero’ in any of the following categories:
- LOtC Inspiring Educator
- LOtC Innovator
- LOtC Advocate
- Lifetime Achievement in LOtC
It could be a team, colleague, friend or celebrity who has shown passion for learning outside the classroom and dedication to enabling more young people to explore the world beyond the classroom.
The deadline for nominations is 22nd July 2016. Nominees will then be shortlisted before public voting opens in September. The awards will be presented at the CLOtC’s annual conference in the autumn.
To nominate your LOtC Hero, please complete the online nomination form.
Last year’s awards celebrated a range of people working across the country to ensure that more young people benefit from LOtC experiences. Nominees included teachers, LOtC coordinators, teacher educators, farmers, museum and heritage staff, local authority workers, volunteers and many other people demonstrating a passion for providing meaningful, real world learning experiences.
