The Walney partnership schools have developed a number of resources to enable the pupils involved to personalise their experiences during their key stage 2 – 3 transition camps. For example, transition ‘bead strings’ are used to record the skills the children have developed while at camp, and then leave them with a permanent reminder of everything they’ve achieved.

This slideshow case study shows the bead system in action, as well as many of the activities carried out during the residential as those transition skills are developed.
